Belle Isle Detroit Kite Festival

There was a event called Detroit Kite Festival on July 14, 2019. It was held on Belle Isle, Detroit. I have to admit it was so amazing and incredible and extraordinary and...ahhh, too many words. Just see for yourself.

People fly beautiful kites on this giant field. And some of the kites are very big.

A giant octopus kite.
A United States Flag Kite.
After looking at all those beautiful kites, the three of us kids couldn't help but wanted to fly a kite. We didn't even care if the kites are small or boring. As long as there were kites, we were in.

We found a little booth that lends kites. So of course we quickly chose a kite and get started. Only we had a little trouble flying them....

That's when dad helped and taught us to fly those things. It wasn't long before we leaned how to do it.

I finally flew a kite!(Did I mention that this is my first time doing this?)
Kayce was doing it too! Just kidding, she was just holding the kite holder.
Lots of colorful kites in the blue sky....
After a long time we got hungry, so we went to find food.

There was a food booth, and you can guess what happen next.

The food booth.
Kayce said one of her eyes hurt. Mom figured it was sunscreen.
Later, the food came. I don't have any pictures of those so uh... I'll just tell you what they are.

Erm, actually, I forgot the names too. Guess I'll just describe the food.

Dad ordered one white rice with tandoori chicken and another white rice with beef kebab. They are both delicious.

After lunch we decided to go make a kite at the Make a Kite Booth. Mom and dad helped us make them and me and my sisters were the helpers. (Why? Because our crafts skills are... not so good)

Joyce was gathering the materials.

Me, getting a piece of tape for mom.
Our handmade kites.
Our handmade kites did not fly. I can understand why Joyce's didn't because it has way too much decorations, but mine and Kayce's? I really don't know why it doesn't balance. Our kites kept spinning, spinning and spinning....

Instead we went back to the lend-kites-booth. Guess what? No kites left! Then we waited for a long time and finally some people showed up returning kites.

Too bad there was no more wind so our kites could not fly. The afternoon sucks.

So we went home. I was very disappointed. But hey, life is full of good and bad, just get over it already!
